NEW Grief Support Group for Indigenous Mothers Online Cohort
Bellis is piloting a special online cohort specifically for Indigenous mothers who are no longer parenting their children - due to termination of parental rights, transfer of custody, an open child protection case, or other involuntary reasons.
Are you interested in attending a Bellis grief support group, but you’re feeling nervous or overwhelmed about getting started?
The intention of the cohort is to create a space where there is consistency with the same women attending each week to create a feeling of comfort, security, and community.
This cohort will be guided by an Indigenous licensed facilitator whose role is to foster a space for peer support. The facilitator will not be providing therapy. The magic of this group is for women to actively support each other and be surrounded by others who “get it”.
Details: Starting on Wednesday, June 12, this group will take place on Wednesday mornings at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (one hour) for 6 weeks, ending on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Our ask of potential participants: If you choose to participate in the cohort, we ask that you try to attend all 6 sessions to help with consistency for others and yourself.
If this is something you feel you may be interested in, please use this link https://form.jotform.com/mybellis/stronger-together-online-cohort to register.
Our capacity is 6 women who will be selected on a first come first served basis. Once this cohort fills up, interested women will remain on a waiting list and be notified when the next cohort is available.
This is a not a replacement for our drop-in grief support groups, rather an additional offering. All current group offerings will continue as scheduled.
